Stupid decision I know it...

So Steve went to pick up what he thought was going to be a 1990 oldsmobile. When he got there he was SHOCKED to find out it was a 2000. Our orginal plan was to sell the "1990" olds, the red mazda, and the van and then put the $ towards something decent. But NOW, we've got this super nice car that only has 35,000 kms on it and still smells new even though it's 7 years old. We'd never get what it's worth if we sold it, so we've decided to keep it. The only problem is that it's a 5 seater. I really really wanted the space of a van. So, we're going to sell the van, trailer, red mazda and the black mazda. Steve is stuck on getting a stupid truck. I think it's the dumbest decision ever. He got his own way, we're keeping the car selling everything else, and getting him a freakin' truck. At least he agreed to sell the trailer, because we both know we could NEVER afford a truck that would tow it with no problems.
FOR SALE:
Nice 17ft travel trailer $2000 -SOLD
Old 1990 Red Mazda 323 that runs quite well $1000
1991 Black Mazda Protege $3000? I think that's what steve said. Great condition
1994 Ford Aerostar XL extend van. $2500 Needs minor work, runs well. -SOLD
WANTED: Decent Truck, short box, the more it seats the better. Between $4000 and $6000.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes. If the car really isn't working out space wise, then I'll sell it and get a van.

I'm taking a poll...

We are talking about getting a newer, more reliable vehicle. There's just one problem. I have a feeling we will NEVER be able to agree on what to buy! We have never had a hard time agreeing or compromising on any subject except this one. So, I need opinions from as many people as possible.
There are 3 kids, a dog and two adults in this household. We will be towing a trailer occasionally and travelling long distances about 6 times a year.
Would you buy a 5 passenger vehicle, or a 7 passenger vehicle?
I won't say who wants the 5 or who wants the 7. I just want opinions. AS MANY AS POSSIBLE PLEASE!
